Rules-based trend-following across a 14-commodity futures basket with long uptrends and short downtrends, sized by two-stage volatility targeting and stress-tested for lookahead, costs, and overfitting rather than tuned for returns.

A minimum-variance hedge of physical copper (LME cash) against COMEX futures removes ~33% of daily variance out-of-sample vs. 0.6% for a naive 1:1 hedge, and prices the basis risk that remains: the gap that cost a hedged desk ~$2.8M at the 2025 tariff peak. Test-driven Python, 115 tests.
